Superman

Superman was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster and first appeared in Action Comics #1 in 1938. The character was developed as a science fiction-based hero with extraordinary powers who could fight crime and injustice. In the original story, Superman was an alien from the planet Krypton who was sent to Earth as a baby and raised by human foster parents. As he grew up and discovered his powers, he began using them to protect the people of Earth and became known as Superman.
